INDORE: More than a year after the killing of retired police officer Arjun Singh Parihar, city police on Sunday cracked the blind murder mystery with the arrest of four accused including two minors in the case. The accused were arrested in connection to recent theft executed by them in Sanyogitaganj area and during intense interrogation spilled the beans to accept their hands in the murder.

Police have recovered stolen the mobile phone, Parihar’s wristwatch, jewellery and documents apart from more than two dozen mobile phones stolen by them during different thefts committed by them.
The arrested accused are Farooq alias Ajju, a resident of Sanawad town in Khargone district and Aafreen, a resident of Burhanpur district and two minors. They had attacked Parihar finding him alone in his home while they had slipped inside his home to commit theft. The accused in past had committed nearly a dozen crimes in Bhanwarkuan, Palasia, Juni Indore and Azad Nagar area.
Holding a press conference, DIG Santosh Kumar said, “The accused are notorious criminals. They hold past criminal history. Various cases are registered against them in different police stations. We formed a team to crack the case. Understanding daily routine of the retired officer, we concluded that it was done by someone with a motive of theft.”
The 78-year-old retired police inspector Arjun Singh Parihar was found murdered inside his house in Vishnupuri locality on May 28 last year. Indore DIG Santosh Singh had constituted a team to probe the matter. A reward of Rs 10,000 was announced on the arrest of the accused by then SP West.
